WBFF 1999 - RAW2000EDITION

WBFF99 closes doors and announces the Award Winners
The 2th annual Williamsburg Brooklyn Film Festival, entitled "RAW2000EDITION",
closed doors Sunday, June 27 with the Award Ceremony followed by the Closing
Night Gala held at Season Restaurant. The Festival, held at the Commodore Theatre
in Williamsburg, presented 32 films from 6 different countries.
>The 1999 Grand Chameleon Award was assigned by the WBFF board of directors
and the winner was chosen amongst the 4 winners of the Chameleon Statuette.
The Grand Chameleon Award is intended to reward the best film of the year and
the winner receives a prize of $15,000 in services sponsored by Panavision,
Kodak, Technicolor, Mad Dog Films, and Lulu Records.
>The Chameleon Statuette was given to the best film in each of the four categories
and it was assigned by a panel of 11 judges.
>The Premio Nuovo was given to the most promising director of the year and it
was assigned by the WBFF board of directors.
>The Certificates for Outstanding Achievement were assigned by the panel of
11 judges.
>The Audience Awards were chosen by a team of 5 filmmakers who monitored the
audience reaction during the screenings.
