WBFF'99 AWARD WINNER "CLOUDS" ACQUIRED BY GLOBAL INDEPENDENCE
WBFF is pleased to announce that "Clouds," premiered at the WBFF'99 and Winner
of the "Premio Nuovo", has been acquired by Global Independence for worldwide
theatrical release, Internet and video/DVD release. Global will distribute "Clouds"
theatrically next year in the U.S. during the mid-to-late Spring, followed by
video and Internet sales shortly thereafter.
"Clouds" will be released to video stores under Global's "Hollywoodn't" label.
Phil Marques, acquisitions director for Global Independence, is excited about
the potential for "Clouds," stating: "This is a remarkable film and I was deeply
impressed by its poetic insight. This is truly a film for the new millennium."
"Clouds" is the feature film debut of playwright/filmmaker Don Thompson. Synopsis:
While on a seaside sabbatical to work on his theory regarding the nature of
reality, a Physics professor meets an artist, a beautiful woman (played by Jennifer
Jordan Day), and a burned out actor- all who help turn what started out to be
a purely scientific quest into a search for inner meaning. CLOUDS - Directed
by DON THOMPSON - 103mins - FEATURE - 35MM
