Through the resources of industry-related sponsors, the Brooklyn International Film Festival will award the 2008 winners with a total of $80,000 in prizes and film services.

This Award is intended to reward the best film of the year
Eligibility: All the films in the competition are eligible for this award regardless of their length, category, or format
Jury: This award is assigned by the Board of Directors of the Festival and chosen among the winners of the Chameleon Statuette
DIANE SELIGMAN AWARD
With this annual $5,000 cash award, both the Festival and the grant maker, Lowel Light, intend to reward, support, and encourage the next generation of inspired documentary filmmakers.
In memory of Diane Seligman, a beautiful person who celebrated life in the way she lived. And for all those who knew Diane and in whom she lives, The DIANE SELIGMAN AWARD is presented to the "Best Documentary".

CERTIFICATE OF EXELLENCE
Certificates are assigned for outstanding achievement in the following categories: Production, Screenwriting, Cinematography, Editing, Original Score, Acting (female), Acting (male).

AUDIENCE AWARD
Audience Awards are assigned in each category as follows:
